The promised weather icons are here! 74 brand spankin' new Tango icons for your viewing pleasure. None of the original Tango weather icons included here (except in the Samurize icon config) because you can get those stock with any tango iconset.
The samurize config is included as "tango.weather.rar". In order to use this with Weather.2004, simply unzip and drop the folder into the directory with your other samurize icons, and change your Samurize config to point to the new icon directory. Boom-bow, Tangoified Samurize!
Moon phases Moon phases with weather conditions Hot (think VERY sunny) Icy Dusty Smog Haze Thundershower Freezing Rain/Sleet Fog (redone, old Tango wasnt very usable in other scenarios)
As always, 48x48 with SVGs included.
Edit 9/24/08: Updated Hazy/Foggy/Dusty/Smoggy icons, based on user feedback. Please note that the Foggy icon IS original in execution, but not in idea. I created the SVG from scratch based on the Unabashed Tango Theme icon by Lokheed (here: [link]). I didnt have access to the SVG, so it is my own work, but using his original design. Much thanks for that, Lokheed.
Also added Windy and Windy + Rain icons on request, original creations that I would very much like some feedback on. I like how they came out, but not to the point where I feel the best about them.
I returned here after some time and, what a surprize! New fog/haze/etc icons (very very good) and wind/wind+rain! I like the wind metaphor you used, I can just suggest as a feedback that the outline might be a little lighter (it seems a bit too solid to me). Good work, anyway.
p.s.: I've just read the continuation of my thread about licensing and sincerely thank you for understanding. I didn't think about using a private message but in fact you are right, that would have been better. Sorry, I'll remember for the future.
I actually updated the wind/wind-rain icon again since I last published these, I used a white-transparent gradient to fade out the wind in the upper right, but that doesnt quite work. Its been changed to be actually transparent now...I'll update when I get a chance.
If that is your wish, then the CC-by-sa fits your needs! Please consider indicating this in this page (you can find the buttons when editing the deviation, at the bottom).
Thank you for drawing a windy icon... no, no moon phases, but a windy+rain would also be useful for that set. Oh and one more if you don't matter, one icon for "unknown weather". Thanks again!
Note: in fact, you must distribute your icons under CC-by-sa because they are derivative works of Tango icons which have the same license (that's the meaning of "sa", share-alike)
Honestly, I could care less. I'll put it on there, if only to avoid future complaints, but it surprises me that people cant just enjoy something without threatening me with language like I MUST put this license on there. Disheartens me a little that something fun has to be bogged down in minutia.
It has nothing to do with threatening you, or not enjoying something. And the something fun isn't bogged down in the minutia. If you were wilfully denying and violating the terms of the GPL, RMS would just as well give you an ear full. mischamajskij is simply saying that you agreed to a set of terms provided in a license, and therefore it is your responsibility to follow those terms.
There is nothing disheartening, or threatening about his tone, or what he said. It is simple fact.
Rather, what is disheartening, is the number of people who already take our icons and do what they please with them, violating the license, and not giving us proper attribution. There are commercial sites, open source apps, and fraudulent scam sites, all using our icons, without abiding by the license. He was simply asking you to do the right thing, and quoting the license to show you.
All things said and done, the license is added hopefully in all places where it should be added, so I hope everyone is happy now and can enjoy the work that has been done both by the original tango artists and also my derivative and original works.

Such is life.
